Tipp Today - Wednesday 7th Feb - Hour 1

In the first hour of this mornings Tipp Today we were joined by Helen England for our Wednesday Focus in which we discussed February marking the start of Springtime for many people. We then had the Local Paper Review with Trudy. We also spoke to another caller in relation to the parking issues at Semple Stadium in Thurles.

In the final hour of this mornings Tipp Today we were joined by Kay Spillane and Eddie Golden who told us about their upcoming fundraiser. We spoke to a caller about landlords rights and then spoke to a caller about parking tickets in Clonmel. We heard from a teacher in the Ursuline Thurles, Siobhan Hackett , about her book 'Heroes-Touching Hearts and Minds'. We had another caller speaking about parking at Semple Stadium. We also spoke to a Tipperary Business woman taking part in Extreme Zip Line challenge to raise money for the ISPCC.

In the second hour of this mornings Tipp today we had our Legal Slot with John Lynch Solicitors. We spoke to Cllr Martin Browne in relation to the government being called on to stop the sale of Sean Ross Abbey in Roscrea. We then spoke to another Terryglass resident who told us how yesterdays actions went. We also spoke to Dancing with the Stars contestant Allanah Beirne to hear about her performance this week.

In the first hour of this mornings Tipp Today we spoke to a Clonmel woman in relation to the Housing Issue. We then spoke to residents from Thurles who have been affected by parking on match days. We also spoke to Ralph Riegel about the latest developments in the 'Kerry Babies' case. We then had a caller who spoke about the homelessness topic and the amount of houses free in Tipperary.

In the final hour of this mornings Tipp Today we had our cooking slot with Paddy Fahy. We then spoke to John O'Brien about his upcoming fundraiser which is an Alzheimars Seminar at Cashel Mart. We were joined by Bernie Walsh to hear about the aftermath of the Mock Wedding which took place over the weekend. We also spoke to Tommy Marren about his new play which has been touring Ireland for just over two years, 'Nobodys Talking to Me'. Finally we spoke to a caller from Terryglass about the protest taking place outside the County Council offices in Nenagh today in relation to the conditions of the roads in the region.

We also had our friday panel with solicitor Kieran Cleary, Deputy Editor of the Irish Farmers Journal Caitriona Morrissey and one of our listeners Paul McCarthy where we discussed the topics of whether home owners should arm themselves in order to protect themselves and their home from intruders, if we have become a passive nation that won't protest and if we still value saints in modern society.
